The 5th Annual International Conference: "Values, Equality and Learning"
The 5th international conference was held in Vienna, Austria on September 25-27, 2008, with the title “Values, Equality and Learning - Education for All”.
The conference title illustrated the ambition of the conference to discuss Education for All in a learning world. Recognising the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 both the true multinational composition of conference presenters and the expression of conference sessions demonstrated eagerness to address these issues, both from European and global perspectives.
To quote from the conference brochure: “We respect and appreciate diversity, but we take action for human values and equality, in which education plays a major role. Values, equality and learning are key words in this process and also vital goals in themselves”.
The conference thematically expressed the intercultural dialogue and the event addressed global, societal and professional challenges that we all face and must respond to in order build education for all. More than 150 conference delegates from 22 countries in Europe and beyond participated at the successful event.
