The 8th International Conference: "Creating Knowledge and Wisdom in Education and Training"
We are delighted to announce that the 8th International Conference will be held at the elegant, four star Boscolo Plaza Hotel in Nice, France on May 10-12, 2012. The title of the conference is “Creating Knowledge and Wisdom in Education and Training”.
This conference will highlight excellence and mastery in education by exposing key elements of - and best practice in – the creation of both knowledge and what can be expressed as educational and professional ‘wisdom’.
The topic/s will be introduced by internationally recognized experts in this focal area of the conference, followed by seminars and parallel sessions of lectures and workshops led by practitioners and researchers.
Welcome to the Nice Conference
On behalf of the Learning Teacher Network I wish you warmly welcome to the network’s 8th International Conference. Alike previous conferences, we look forward to welcoming colleagues from all levels of education and training in Europe and beyond a golden opportunity for learning and sharing of experience with colleagues in a good and friendly atmosphere in an international setting.
2012 is the European Year for Active Ageing. Ageing does not necessarily relate to physical age only. Instead, to us who work in education and training, one main mission is to support the journey from beginner to master, in other words how we all continuously enhance learning and create knowledge for the benefit of students within the perspectives of lifelong learning.
Therefore, this year’s conference will address the core of professional work: How does education and training create excellence, knowledge and wisdom in teaching and learning? And, this question we relate to the perspectives of Education for lifelong learning and Education for sustainable development (ESD).
High profile keynote speakers and a large number of professionals from all levels of education and training will gather together to exchange front-line knowledge and best practice. Already now I would like to express my appreciation of the more than 45 presenters from 14 countries who will contribute with sessions, altogether ensuring that the conference will be an extraordinary venue for learning and international collaboration.
I hope that also you will join this important conference of the year and take the opportunity to participate in this memorable and content rich event. The conference will also be a unique opportunity for networking and for making new connections for the future.
This time we have chosen to arrange the international conference in the city of Nice, which is located on the French Riviera in Côte d'Azur. Blessed by a sunny, temperate climate, Nice attracts visitors from around the world. I am convinced that each one participating at the conference will enjoy the charming, historical and attractive city of Nice on the Mediterranean Sea, and the elegant environment in which the conference will take place.
Welcome to the 8th International Conference!
