Connected to the device “Learn Globally: Act Locally!”, the Young Masters Programme on Sustainable Development (YMP) is a global web-based education and learning network. It is open for school students between the ages of 16-18 years and their teachers from all over the world. And it is free of charge. So far, more than 20,000 students from over 110 countries have completed the YMP.

Last year the new YMP website www.goymp.org was successfully launched at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The new website makes it possible for many more students and teachers to take part in YMP – still free of charge for everyone worldwide.

The YMP is now welcoming students and teachers to join and register to start the course. The new look GoYMP website is a substantial update on the former YMP, but it maintains our high standards of teaching and providing a quality education to students about sustainable development. As a token of appreciation, the first 5,000 new registered users will be awarded with the “YMP Pioneer Award”.

The GoYMP website is designed specifically for students by making the online aspect of the work fun and interactive. Features include social networking through a story board and message inbox, a global classroom to meet other students from around the world, and the chance to offer and receive feedback on other student’s assignments in order to learn through peer-review. Students proceed forward through missions, earning points and going to new levels along the way, meanwhile stepping off-line to undertake sustainable development tasks in their local communities.

To enhance the YMP experience, the YMP Foundation is continuously open to the feedback and contributions from the users. Suggestions and ideas can be shared at report@goymp.org
