Comenius Regio Contact Seminar in Estonia
The Centre for Educational Programmes in Estonia organises a Comenius Regio Contact seminar in Tallinn, Estonia on 30 September to 3 October 2010. The aim of the contact seminar is to bring together key actors in education from regions who care for high quality education in the region and who are interested in setting up a Comenius Regio partnership with colleagues from different parts of Europe.
The Centre for Educational Programmes is a unit within the Archimedes Foundation, an independent body established by the Estonian government in 1997.
The contact seminar offers participants the opportunity to:
• Exchange information and experiences
• Work in groups and in tandems to find and form partnerships
• Discuss and develop project ideas
• Get acquainted with application requirements
The working language is English.
Target group:
Representatives of local or regional authorities with a role in school education will be eligible to participate in the contact seminar and apply for funding for a Comenius Regio project.
Each partner region, represented by the relevant authority with a role in school education, must involve at least one school and at least one other relevant local institution or organisation (e.g. youth or sport clubs, parents and pupils associations, local teacher training institutes, other learning providers, enterprises, museums and consulting services/ advisory boards). The local or regional authorities must coordinate the project within their region and are responsible for the financial management of the project. The other actors within a partner region (schools or other relevant organisations) must be actively involved and contribute to the project activities.
The invitation is open to all countries in the Lifelong Learning programme up to 4 participants from each country plus one NA representative (total 60 participants).
Expected outcomes:
• New contacts between institutions and people have been established
• Ideas for good quality projects seeking for new challenges discussed and developed
• the number and the quality of Comenius Regio project applications for 2011 application deadline has increased
Cost of the seminar:
The seminar fee is 550 Euro, which includes accommodation for 3 nights, meals and the program.
There are EU funds available to cover the seminar fee and travel costs. Please contact your National Agency for a Comenius Preparatory Visit grant.
