IMMILABOUR: Interactive language learning courses for living and working abroad

Targeting the needs of immigrants, the EU project IMMILABOUR has produced an interactive, web based multimedia language learning course specially designed for improving listening and speaking skills. For free one can learn English, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian in fourteen lessons including animations, interactive exercises, and by listening, repeating and playing games. Also a multimedia and interactive CD-ROM with the training course is available.

The IMMILABOUR project has designed this fine language-learning course in electronic format specially designed to fulfil the needs of immigrants, both informative and linguistic. The multimedia course can be accessed on the project website where also further information is provided.

And, would you need to know about living and working on Ireland, Malta, in Portugal, Romania and Spain? The website provides for excellent information also in this respect. Furthermore, the website functions as a forum where immigrants can share information and ideas related to this topic. The website also links with pages where immigrants can find further information that helps them to meet their particular needs: governmental organisations, associations, NGO's, training organisations, etceteras.

The Leonardo da Vinci project IMMILABOUR - “A European Tool to Improve Access and Permanence of Immigrants in the Labour Market” – has the ambition to contribute to the access of immigrants to the labour market and to make easier their social integration. The project has researched in depth the specific problems and needs that immigrants face when arriving in their country of destination. From this study, a report has been published that shows the main needs of immigrants and organisations working for their integration in the involved countries.

Information about the ten project partners is published on the website.
