Seniors in Action

A European project titled “Seniors in Action” is an endeavour which manages to engage seniors over 55 years old who have a special capacity (honey producers, organic farmers, mathematicians, poets, chess players, painters, etc.) and to make them more active as informal educators for pupils. The project runs in the framework of the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme, sub-programme Grundtvig.

The project coordinating institution is ECOSE from Greece. This innovative project has “produced” tangible and concrete results. As centre point has been the formation of a kind of “reservoir of knowledge”, which consists of a substantial number of seniors across a number of European countries who are ready and willing to volunteer and transfer their knowledge/experience and competencies to younger generations.
