Nominated for a European Award

The Learning Teacher Network has been nominated for one of the European Awards for Lifelong Learning, in recognition of its contribution to creativity and innovation. The award ceremony will take place in Prague, the Czech Republic, on 7 May 2009 at Clarion Congress Hotel Prague.

This year, the conference of the Lifelong Learning Programme "Create, innovate and cooperate", under the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, will serve to debate the role of the current Lifelong Programme in supporting creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship at all levels of education and training.

For the European Awards, the three best projects in 6 categories - Comenius, Erasmus, Grundtvig, Leonardo da Vinci, Languages and ICT - will be honoured at an award ceremony within the framework of this conference. The awards will be presented by Mr Ondrej Liska, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports in the Czech Republic, and Mr Jan Figel, Member of the European Commission for Education, Training, Culture and Youth.
