Comenius Partnerships Conference – helping schools team up across Europe

On 3-4 May, the European Commission will organise an international conference in Brussels dedicated to Comenius school partnerships. The aims are to discuss what makes cross-border co-operation between schools successful and what creates lasting impacts, to explore the links between school projects and wider school policy developments and to give participants an opportunity to forge new networks for future co-operation.

Attendance is by invitation only and participants will come from ongoing school partnerships as well as national and European authorities and associations involved in the making and shaping of school policy.

Four thematic workshops will look at school co-operation in the light of current policy issues such as improving learning environments, teachers' competences, inclusive education and the internationalisation of schools.

12 Comenius school partnerships will present themselves in an exhibition at the conference and more projects will serve as examples in workshop discussions.

One of the presenters will be Mr. Magnus Persson, coordinator of the Learning Teacher Network. Having been invited by the Commission because the network is a recognised good example of Comenius partnerships, Magnus Persson will speak at workshop 2 on improving teacher competences.
