Human Rights Day 10 December 2010

The theme for Human Rights Day 10 December 2010 is "Human rights defenders who act to end discrimination". Human rights defenders acting against discrimination, often at great personal risk to both themselves and their families, are being recognized and acclaimed on this day.

Meeting the European Youth in their passion to Learn

The research unit [ED+ict], Education & ict, within the teacher training department of the Limburg Catholic University College in Belgium will submit a new, multilateral Comenius project in 2011, titled ‘Meeting the European Youth in their passion to Learn’. This project will help teachers and teacher students realizing the 21st century skills for teachers. They are searching now for partners.

Three amazing child rights heroes have been nominated for the World’s Children’s Prize 2011. They are Cecilia Flores-Oebanda, the Philippines, Murhabazi Namegabe, D.R. Congo and Monira Rahman, Bangladesh.

Global Education Conference

The 2010 Global Education Conference will be held November 15 - 19, 2010, online and free. Sessions will be held in multiple time zones and multiple languages over the five days. The conference is a collaborative and world-wide community effort to significantly increase opportunities for globally-connecting education activities and initiatives.

Innovative Technologies for an Engaging Classroom

iTEC - Innovative Technologies for an Engaging Classroom - is a four year, large-scale project starting in September 2010, which will bring together policy makers, researchers, technology suppliers, other technology-enhanced learning experts and innovative teachers in order to design, build and comprehensively test scalable learning and teaching scenarios for the future classroom. The key aim is to develop engaging scenarios for learning in the future classroom that can be validated in a large-scale pilot and be subsequently taken to scale.
