3rd Career Counsellors’ Training Seminar - Summer School

The 3rd Career Counsellors’ Training seminar” (GR-2010-091-001) will take place on the island of Crete, Greece, on 18-22 July 2010. The seminar aims to bring together career counsellors from different countries and to promote developmental and networking issues amongst the participants. The summer school is organised by Ellinogermaniki Agogi, in the framework of the EU Comenius Project ‘Career Counsellors Interactive Training’ (CarCouIT).

Three Searches for Partners: in Comenius, Grundtvig and Leonardo da Vinci

Sabro Korsvej School, Sabro, Denmark looks for Comenius school partners on Citizenship, locally and globally. The city of Chateau-Chinon in Burgundy, France, looks for partners for a Grundtvig project on a family educational action with parents in difficulty with writing. The Surrey County Council, England UK, is looking to make contact with organisations undertaking community focussed, vocational opportunities for those most distanced from the workplace (within the Leonardo da Vinci programme).

EU Training Course on Intercultural Competences

An EU training course on intercultural competences will be held in Västerås, Sweden on June 14-18, 2010. The course targets teachers and teacher trainers at all levels of education. Organiser is the School of Education at Mälardalen University.

A network of teachers in Nepal joins the Learning Teacher Network

On November 7th a cluster of teachers across Nepal was formed for connection to and collaboration with the Learning Teacher Network. The Nepalese network, preliminarily titled ‘the Learning Teachers' Network – Nepal’ is a non-political and informal network, for development of education in Nepal.

Differences between the academic results of girls and boys

At the Conference on Gender Differences in Educational Achievement, to be held in Uppsala, Sweden on 17–18 November 2009, differences between the academic results of girls and boys will be discussed. Studies reveal similar patterns of gender difference in most European countries. The conference is part of the Swedish Presidency of the European Union.
